Fiorentina legend and current club manager Giancarlo Antognoni has moved to assure worried Fiorentina fans that La Viola are optimistic about keeping a hold of coveted starlet Federico Chiesa amid ongoing links to Inter and many other top European clubs.

“The fans can certainly be more relaxed, especially after what the owner said about there being no problems in keeping Chiesa.

“Federico’s father Enrico is a very important person for him and we are optimistic because he [Chiesa Sr.] said he wants to keep him in Florence for a few years longer,” Antognoni said in an interview with Sky Sports.

It is reported that Fiorentina are looking for at least €70 million to even consider parting ways with Chiesa, who has attracted interest from Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool.

Last season Chiesa was a staple in Stefano Pioli’s side at the Stadio Artemio Franchi making a total of 38 appearances wherein he scored six goals and delivered nine assists.
