Nainggolan Has Said Yes To Inter Move
Radja Nainggolan has ‘practically said yes’ to the prospect of signing for Inter and could complete his move to the Nerazzurri soon, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Nainggolan scored six goals and made 11 assists for the Giallorossi during the 2017-18 season and has emerged as head coach Luciano Spalletti’s primary target in midfield this summer, as Inter look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of participation in next year’s UEFA Champions League.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Thursday that the 30 year-old has all but accepted a move to Milan and should have his future sorted out before too long, as neither Inter nor Roma want negotiations to be dragged out through the summer.
“Nainggolan has always been happy in Rome and still is,” they write, “but he has realised that the club are willing to sacrifice him as they look to rejuvenate their squad and lower their wage bill.
“The Belgian is intrigued by the possibility of being reunited with Luciano Spalletti, the coach who turned him into a trequartista at Roma and made the most of his goal-scoring ability, along with Inter’s return to the Champions League.
“Inter have accelerated their pursuit of the player in recent weeks and are aware that the next few days could be decisive. Piero Ausilio believes Nainggolan can take Inter to the next level and resolve some of the problems they had last season.”
Roma are currently asking for €40 million to part company with Nainggolan, but the impression is that the two clubs could find an agreement for a fee in the region of €30-35 million.
