Inter are on the cusp of reaching an agreement with Sassuolo over a transfer for winger Matteo Politano as per a report from FCInterNews.it.

The Nerazzurri and Neroverdi have an agreement over the transfer formula which will be a cash plus player deal for the 24-year-old. The clubs are in agreement that Inter Primavera duo Davide Merola and Gabriele Zappa will be the players included in the deal but they are yet to have an agreement over the cash part of the deal.

Politano had 11 goals and five assists in 39 appearances last term for the MAPEI Stadium outfit and will give current starting wingers Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva good competition for a starting berth in Luciano Spalletti’s side.

The Italian international is one of two wingers Inter are reportedly closing in on alongside Bordeaux starlet Malcom. The French club have now opened up to the possibility of loaning the 21-year-old to Inter with a redemption obligation whereas previously they seemed dead set on only accepting a straight up transfer.
