Joao Cancelo is on the verge of completing a move to Juventus after the Bianconeri reached an agreement with Valencia for the Portuguese full-back, according to Premium Sport.

Cancelo made 26 appearances for Inter during the 2017-18 season and provided four assists as Luciano Spalletti’s side secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League, but returned to Valencia at the end of the campaign after the Nerazzurri opted not to exercise their €35 million option to buy on the player.

Juventus have since entered into talks with the La Liga club over the 23 year-old after following him at length during last summer’s transfer window, before Inter signed him on loan, and are now said to have finalised a deal for the Portuguese international.

According to Premium Sport, Valencia will sell Cancelo on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy for €38 million; a formula that will enable Juventus to defer the majority of their payment but also allow Valencia to secure the funds they need to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Los Che must recoup approximately €40 million before 30 June in order to respect the settlement agreement they have signed with European football’s governing body, but this agreement will permit them to do so as UEFA now consider loan deals with an obligation to buy to be the same as a permanent signing.
