After securing Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club, Inter continue to scour Argentina for the best young talent. The next name on their list is Nico Gonzalez – 20 year old forward from Argentinos Juniors who has drawn comparisons with Juve’s Paulo Dybala. The young talent burst onto the scene this season with seven goals and one assist in 22 appearances.
The Nerazzurri are keen on the player, but are aware that it would be difficult for him to find the space to develop in the current squad. Instead, their idea is to purchase him with collaboration with another club where they player could acclimatize to Italy and Serie A.
Sky Sport report that this option has been discussed with Sassuolo who have the first option on the deal. This option will expire tomorrow however and, if the Neroverdi do not agree, then Cagliari are waiting in the wings to take on the young player.
