Inter’s courtship of Rafinha is now over as per FCInterNews.it who also report that Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position to land the midfielder from Barcelona.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at the Nerazzurri and captured the hearts of the Inter faithful with his passionate displays. Inter had an option to turn the loan permanent for €35 million but due to financial fair play, they were forced to pass up on the opportunity and were then unable to re-negotiate a second loan with Barcelona.

Inter management have spoken with Rafinha, who made it clear he wanted to return, and confirmed that they are ending their interest in him, which should not come as too big a surprise to him given weeks of silence.

FCInterNews.it also report that Spurs fellow Premier League side West Ham United are keen on the Brazilian, who Barcelona are looking to get upwards of €30 million for.
