Steven Zhang or current vice-president Javier Zanetti could be named the new Inter president if/once current president leaves with Tuttosport the latest news outlet to report that Suning are hoping to buy the Indonesian tycoon’s shares in the club.

Il Sore 24 Ore were among the first to report that Inter’s Chinese owners wish to buy Thohir out of the club and assume all but all control of the club. With Thohir’s shares, Suning will have a 99.6% majority stake in the Nerazzurri with the remaining 0.4% staying with the likes of the sons of Massimo Moratti and Giacinto Fachetti.

It is also understood by the Turin based newspaper that Thohir values his stake in the club in the region of €150-200 million and is looking to secure a stake in the Chinese company in exchange for his shares at Inter.

Thohir bought a majority stake in Inter from long serving president Massimo Moratti back in 2013 but sold it to Suning back in 2016.
