Inter are not only looking to extend Milan Skriniar and Mauro Icardi’s contracts, but the Nerazzurri are looking to confirm their midfield as well by extending the contract of Italian international midfielder Roberto Gagliardini.

The club recently met with the player’s agent, Beppe Riso, and Tuttomercatoweb report that the discussions regarding a renewal will continue when the player returns from his holidays.

The 24 year old joined Inter from Atalanta in January last season and has been a regular feature in the Nerazzurri midfield, featuring in 32 out of a possible 40 matches last season. The player struggled to find his best form for parts of the season, but his partnership with Croatian Marcelo Brozovic was paramount in helping Inter overtake Lazio for the final Champions League spot.

With Champions League football next season guaranteed, there will be many more opportunities for the player to cement himself in Inter’s starting eleven, as well as Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers.
