Radja Nainggolan’s transfer to Inter has been the subject of a lot of speculation recently and aside from one or two short replies on social media, the Belgian midfielder has not commented the stories.

Until today, that is, where he gave an exclusive interview to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Francesco Fontana confirming the move to the Nerazzurri as well as sharing his thoughts on being reunited with Spalletti, leaving Roma and why he chose Inter as his next destination.

When asked why he chose the Nerazzurri the former Cagliari midfielder explains that “Inter wanted me strongly, more than all other clubs. I can’t do anything but thank the club. [At Inter] I will rediscover a great coach, I am happy to be working with him again.”

Nainggolan then turned to explaining why he is leaving the Giallorossi stating that: “the decision to leave did not depend on me, it was a decision the club made which I respected.”

In conclusion Nainggolan described his time at Roma as well as his relationship with the club’s fans stating that: “I will always carry with me every moment I’ve lived whilst wearing these colors. I leave Roma after having given everything during these marvelous seasons. I would like to thank every single fan for these seasons spent together. They have always supported and demonstrated great affection, I will never forget that.”
