According to the latest reports from Corriere dello Sport, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has informed FIFA agent Federico Pastorello that he is moderately optimistic about the club’s chances of signing Malcom during this summer’s transfer window.

A report in this morning’s edition of the Rome-based sports newspaper read: “The first few days of next week may bring important news on Malcom. Inter are moderately optimistic about signing him on loan with option/obligation to buy.

“The Brazilian should arrive in Milan shortly to discuss an exit strategy from Bordeaux alongside his representatives. The French side play their first official match of the season on July 26th in the preliminary round of the UEFA Europa League. They will resume training next week. Malcom has informed his teammates that, in his head, he is focused on securing a move to Inter.”

Only time will tell whether Ausilio can persuade Les Girondins to part with their prized asset on terms by which Inter can satisfy the demands of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
