The renewal process of Mauro Icardi’s has still not crossed the finish line but according to Tuttosport the finish line is in fact in sight.

Icardi has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League as Inter captain which is good news for Inter’s hopes of signing him to a new contract. Despite the renewal of Ivan Perisic and the imminent arrival of Radja Nainggolan, an offer of €5.4 million euros (€4.9 million plus a 10% bonus linked to the Champions League) is on the table from Inter.

There is also a bonus waiting for Icardi depending on how many goals he scores. After the 10th goal Icardi will receive €200,000 and after every fifth goal after the tenth goal another €200,000. At Inter everyone is aware of the fact that Icardi’s performance last season (29 goals, top scorer in the Serie A together with Ciro Immobile) needs to be recognised. So at the moment there are discussions of Icardi’s salary and a new buy-out clause.

The Turin based newspaper however warn that Juventus are still pressing in order to snatch Icardi while sending Gonzalo Higuain and a bunch of cash to Milan.
