Inter President Erick Thohir answered questions from Breakingnews.co.id on the topic of the new acquisition of Belgian midfielder, Radja Nainggolan.
“Why Nainggolan? We previously had Rafinha in that role, but suddenly this possibility opened up… He already has experience in the Italian Serie A and this is extremely positive for us, it is practically an insurance to our team.
“We need good players to shoot from outside the area, so that Mauro Icardi can have more space and freedom in the area… Not only that, someone like Nainggolan also frees space for the two wingers to get shooting opportunities.”
Thohir has a very optimistic outlook on the transfer, having high hopes that Nainggolan will be that missing player in the midfield since the negotiations for Rafinha have not been successful.
With a midfield that includes Nainggolan, Gagliardini, Brozovic, Vecino and Borja Valero, there is much depth, character and experience that will make Inter stronger for next season.
