Palmeiras president Maurice Galiotte has addressed the rumours linking the Verdao with free agent Bernard and Inter defender Miranda.

“We follow some great players like the ones mentioned, but it is very complicated in terms of salary, family, values and striking deals with the clubs,” he revealed in an interview with Globoesporte.

“We will try to strengthen our squad as we want to win the title this year, it is our priority. We want a team stronger than ever before.”

Miranda has just a year left on his contract and has made no secret of the fact that he wishes to return to Brazil before calling it a day and retiring but recent reports have suggested that Inter are to give him an extension.

The veteran Brazilian defender has already confirmed talks have taken place with the Brazilian giants but reaffirmed his commitment to the Nerazzurri in the same interview.
