No less than 14 Serie A clubs sent players to the World Cup and just Inter and Genoa have all their players remaining at the tournament.

Inter quartet Miranda, Ivan Perisic, Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino are present in Russia representing Brazil, Croatia and Uruguay respectively. Genoa meanwhile have Swedish international Oscar Hiljemark and Vecino’s Uruguayan compatriot Diego Laxalt still there with quarter-final action to kick off later this afternoon with Uruguay entertaining France and Brazil then hosting Belgium in the later of the two games for a place in the semi-finals that will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Of the remaining 12 clubs, seven of them have at least one player remaining at the tournament while five of them have none at all.

Inter and arch rivals Juventus – who sent the most players from any Serie A club (10) – have the most players still at the tournament with four apiece.
