Luciano Spalletti has made an express request for Inter to keep hold of Ivan Perisic, Marcelo Brozovic and Xian Emmers this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Spalletti is due to begin pre-season training with the Nerazzurri ahead of the new season on Monday and posted a message to fans on his Instagram profile yesterday, thanking them for their support throughout the 2017-18 campaign and inviting them to provide the same backing this year.

However the enthusiasm amongst Inter fans on the eve of the 2018-19 campaign is not the only reason he is pleased at the moment, as he has also had various transfer requests satisfied by Piero Ausilio.

“Spalletti has asked Inter to keep hold of Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic as the club target a victorious season,” Corriere dello Sport wrote on Saturday. “But he has also had his say over the future of several young players.

“Take Xian Emmers as an example, the Belgian will turn 19 on 20 July. Spalletti has been asking for him to stay for a month, ever since his name was introduced into talks with Roma over the deal that eventually brought Radja Nainggolan to Inter.

“Having completed his two-year stint with the Primavera Emmers will be in attendance at pre-season training from Monday, ready to follow a similar path to the one Andrea Pinamonti followed last season.”
