Alessandro Florenzi and Roma are edging closer and closer to reaching an agreement over a contract renewal according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb.

In the coming days in fact, it could all be done and Florenzi will extend his current contract past the end of next season which will in turn spell an end to Inter’s hopes of signing him.

The 27-year-old Italian international full back and the Giallorossi had been at loggerheads for some time before today and Inter looked to capitalise on the stalemate by trying to sign him to help them shore up their right back department ahead of the coming season. Some reports that have circulated have suggested Inter were offering Florenzi as much as €4 million per year to ditch the Stadio Olimpico for San Siro and while it could still happen, this report appears to have poured cold water over any potential move to the Nerazzurri.
