Reports coming out of Turkey have revealed Inter made a last ditch proposal to land Serdar Aziz as part of negotiations with Galatasaray that resulted in Yuto Nagatomo making a permanent transfer to the Istanbul club.

Inter, who accepted a €3 million offer for the Japanese international in the end, requested 15-time full Turkish international Aziz to be part of the deal. Galatasaray however rejected this due to the fact that they knew loanee Jason Denayer would be leaving the club and they did not want to lose two centre backs and have to go out and try find two rather than just one, a report from Futbol Arena suggests. The Cimbom’s manager Fatih Terim is understood to have played a big part in the reigning Turkish champions rejecting Inter’s idea.

27-year-old Aziz has been with Galatasaray for two years and still has a further three years left on his contract with the club who he has represented 36 times to date across all competitions.
