The two week window for clubs to activate Mauro Icardi’s foreign release clause is nearing its end and will expire at the weekend.
Turin based newspaper TuttoSport reports, “The last day set for those who want to buy the Argentinian bomber at €110 million is tomorrow, so far it has not been triggered by anybody, and it seems difficult that at the last moment clubs will arrive with this figure.
Once the clause expires discussions could start for a new contractual adjustment for Icardi. The negotiations will not be staged immediately and will come at the start of August, after the International Champions Cup friendly matches. Face-to-face negotiations are not considered a priority, given that permanence in the Nerazzurri seems more and more probable.
Icardi scored 29 in 34 games for Inter in Serie A last term and captained them back in to the Champions League in his fifth season with the club.
