The Croatian contingency at Inter could increase shortly with the insertion of Croatia’n full-back Sime Vrsaljko from Atletico Madrid according to Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

According to the report, given the difficulties in signing Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi, the Nerazzurri have identified the Croatian full-back as their number one target and have an offer ready which they are yet to make consisting of a €5 million loan fee with the option to buy set at €20 million. It remains to be seen how the La Liga outfit will react and if the negotiations will begin.

Inter have lined up Manchester United’s Italian international full-back Mattia Darmian as a back-up where the offer there would be a loan with an option to buy set at €12-13 million. Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta remains a distant third option and depends on if new manager Maurizio Sarri are open to letting the player leave.
