Alessandro Florenzi and Roma are coming close to reaching an agreement over a contract renewal according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

In the coming week Florenzi’s agent Alessandro Lucci will meet with Roma’s sporting director Monchi in a bid to striking a final agreement.

This will come as great news to fans of the Giallorossi but bad news to Inter due to the fact the Nerazzurri have being pursuing the Italian international as a player who could possibly reinforce their defence at right back. The report from the Milan based newspaper suggests that Inter proposed a €4 million per year contract to the 27-year-old and other reports circulating suggest that Florenzi will be signing on for a lot less with the capital club who he has 224 appearances for.

With Florenzi now seemingly out of the picture, Inter are likely to resort to one of Sime Vrsaljko, Matteo Darmian or Davide Zappacosta to address their full back woes.
