Having cooled their interest in Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele, Inter have now turned their attention to two other players, Zenit’s Leandro Paredes and Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

With Zenit targeting the free transfer of Milan Badelj, it pushes Paredes closer to the exit door. Not only is Paredes no stranger to Serie A football having played for Roma, Empoli and Chievo Verona but also Inter manager Luciano Spalletti who he worked under at the Giallorossi. The 24-year-old joined his current employers last summer and is under contract there for a further three seasons until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Kovacic is in a similar situation to Paredes and could become a casualty of Real Madrid’s possible signing of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Kovacic also has past Serie A experience and past experience with Inter having played no less than 97 times for the Nerazzurri.
