Inter’s management are working hard during these last couple of days of the Italian transfer window but it is not only transfers coming in that are important. In fact in order to balance the books and the ability for one last big signing in Luka Modric, one or more players may have to leave the club.

One of those players is Portuguese international Joao Mario who’s situation needs to be worked out. Joao Mario just recently turned down an offer from Turkish side Besiktas as Milano based newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport explains: “This is an ongoing story that Inter wants to resolve with patience but also with a strong hand.

“Therefore it does not come as a surprise that the player has already been informed of the fact that his days of wearing an Inter jersey are over, even if he should remain at Appiano Gentile since there is no room for him on the Champions League squad list, nor is there any room for him in the squad for this year’s Serie A competition. To sum it up: Joao Mario would be out of the squad, separated from the players at home. Who knows what happens during the final days of transfer window as besides the two teams from Sevilla, Inter has received interest from French Ligue 1 side Monaco” the Gazzetta conclude.
