Inter manager Luciano Spalletti spoke with Sky Sport after renewing his contract with the Nerazzurri through to the end of the 2020/21 season.

“The relationship with the fans has always been important, but it has become something more. I always love to see their enthusiasm and the affect it gives to the team: the players owe it to them to give a little more.

“Will I be here for many years? When you don’t get results it’s the same situation: if you don’t meet expectations then you must go, that’s how it is.”

Spalletti concluded the interview by discussing Inter’s pursuit of Luka Modric and shared his delight about getting the players that he wanted.

“The fans need to talk to the director about that, I know nothing about the transfer market. Do we still dream about signing him? I am already very pleased with what I have available to me, I have the players I wanted to have.”
