Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has weighed on in Real Madrid filing a complaint to FIFA over the way Inter allegedly went after Luka Modric and has revealed that this is in fact the way all clubs go after players and called for the current rules to be looked at.

“It is hypocrisy. What team does not contact the player first to find out his availability? These are rules that should be reviewed, I have never seen teams that do not work in this way in the transfer market. Indeed, those who formally always ask for permission, often do so after talking to the player months before. It is like this for everyone,” Di Marzio said on the matter.

It is alleged that Inter spoke with Modric prior to requesting permission from Real Madrid however Inter have denied any wrongdoing and maintain that the way they acted was “entirely legitimate.”
