In an interview with Brazilian outlet Gazeta Press, Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has revealed his loan back to boyhood club Santos has been a coming of age experience for him of sorts and admits to changing a lot since returning home back in January.

“I am alive again and this is evidenced by what you have seen from me on the pitch. I have changed from a tactical and human point of view and I improved a lot after the experience in Europe. I am different, I am a more mature boy, despite my age and I am living my best moments both on and off the pitch.”

In just over three months time, his loan spell will expire and the Brazilian striker has spoken on his future.

“Today I am focused on Santos, I am very happy here. I feel good on and off the pitch. I would rather not think about my future now but I will do it calmly, without haste. It is complicated, but everyone knows my love for this club.”
