Luciano Spalletti has explained the reasoning behind his sending off following Marcelo Brozovic’s late winner against Sampdoria in an interview with DAZN post-match.

“I turned toward the camera and screamed and the fourth official told me that it was excessive. Even though I was turned towards the camera as it was an important goal, they interpreted it as an overly emotional reaction.”

For the second match in a row, Inter have scored in injury time to get all three points and Spalletti spoke on it.

“This way of winning follows the character shown by the team in the previous match, where it has always remained in the race fighting on every ball, taking risks, but we are Inter and we must always be on edge to get the victory.”

Spalletti went on to speak about the effect of having character within the team.

“Seeing this passion gives me greater strength to go forward and I’m glad that element is here rather than the tactics, as those will come with time. We took this issue of character to each and every player individually to make sure it was absorbed the right way.”
