Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek has dismissed the transfer speculation surrounding him after his extraordinary start to life in Serie A, insisting he is always “concentrated on the next match.”

Piatek has scored nine goals in his first seven league matches since joining the Rossoblu in the summer, making him the top scorer in Europe’s top five leagues this season, and found the net again on Sunday afternoon as they lost 3-1 to Parma.

He also scored four goals on his full debut for the club, when Davide Ballardini’s men beat Lecce 4-0 in the Coppa Italia back in August, taking his tally in all competitions to 13 goals – one goal every 56 minutes on average.

He has already been linked to various top clubs across the continent, including Barcelona, Juventus and Inter, but the 23 year-old told reporters yesterday that he is not paying attention to any of the rumours.

“Whenever the papers start talking about me all I do is concentrate on the next match. Barcelona? I don’t think so.”
