Legendary AC Milan central defender Franco Baresi gave an exclusive interview to Italian media outlet FcInterNews ahead of the derby della Madonnina on Sunday night at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district when Inter host the Rossoneri in the Serie A with kick-off scheduled for 20.30 CET.

Baresi began by talking about what he expects to see on Sunday night stating that: “In my opinion it will be a nice derby. Matches such as these are unpredictable, it is difficult to say so close to the match what the final result will be. Undoubtedly these are matches where it is important to get a result, both with regards to not lose ground compared to those in front of them in the standings but also to grow in terms of self-esteem and confidence.”

The former AC Milan captain then focused on Inter and their form underlining that: “Inter are doing really well right now, they have returned to the Champions League and are taking on that challenge in the right way. It is clear that Milan’s objective is to return to Europe’s top club competition, this is what I, as a Rossonero, wish will happen.”
