Inter and Milan are weighing up the idea of building a San Siro 2 on the same grounds as the current stadium that they are shared tenants of according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

The two clubs recently signed a memorandum of understanding with regard to working together on the stadium issue whether that be staying and renovating San Siro or building a new ground entirely.

The Nerazzurri and Rossoneri could purchase the land of the disused race course to the east of the current ground and build a new stadium which is both more modern and functional than the current ground.

CorSera’s report however goes on to state that the Milan city council are hopeful that they can get the clubs to agree to a new 99 year lease of the land the ground currently lies on. Moreover, they wish to see San Siro renovated with ideas such as removing the third tier being mooted about.
