Lautaro Martinez will soon be worth twice the €25 million Inter paid to sign him last summer if he continues his recent form, Corriere dello Sport wrote today.

Lautaro received heavy criticism from the Italian media after missing a penalty in Inter’s Coppa Italia defeat to Lazio on 31 January, but has since won them round with winning goals in consecutive matches against Parma and Rapid Vienna.

The 21 year-old has now scored 7 goals in 22 appearances this season and the Rome-based publication said the Nerazzurri will be more than happy with the investment they have made on him.

“Lautaro is still young and has ups and downs in his performances,” they said.

“Sometimes he misses too many chances, but he’s also capable of being decisive like he was against Napoli, Parma and Rapid Vienna.

“If he continues scoring at this rate, at the end of the season he will already be worth more than twice what Inter paid, although he does have a release clause of €111 million in any case.”
