Despite being on the verge of extending his contract with Inter, Roma are still keen on bringing Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio to the club according to a report ADNKronos.

The Giallorossi are on the look out for a new sporting director after Monchi left the club to return to Sevilla and Ricky Massara has replaced him for now on an interim basis.

Unlike at Inter, at Roma Ausilio would be given full control of the transfer market and is understood to be seeking a new challenge having spent over 20 years with Inter in a number of different capacities.

Ausilio is not the only one that the capital club are considering however. Lille’s Luis Campos, who has strong links to super agent Jorge Mendes, and Torino’s Gianluca Petrachi are both also being considered as possible successor to Monchi.

ADNKronos go on to report that there has been no contact with former Inter and Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli, who could well end up at Bologna.
