“Next year we will still be in Milano”, assured Wanda Icardi, just a few days ago, but the general feeling remains that Mauro Icardi and Inter are more likely to go their separate ways this summer.
And according to Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport a new serious candidate to sign the Argentine strikers has emerged, namely Paris Saint-Germain, who have put Icardi at the top of their shopping list, as a replacement for Edison Cavani.
“There is only one way that Icardi stays at Inter, that’s that the club does not receive a sufficient offer of at least €70 million. Any number below that will not be taken into consideration. Two months out of the squad has severely damaged Icardi’s image and his market value, which PSG’s interest is proof of.”
“Before PSG were nowhere near leading the race to sign the former captain but now they are the only club who seem serious. Edison Cavani’s contract ends at the end of June 2020 and two days ago the Uruguayan stated: “I am fine in Paris but in football you never know.”
“Far from confirming his departure but the lack of time left on his contract and without a renewal on the horizon, he is not short on suitors. He is even considered a desirable profile to replace Icardi at Inter.”
