Milan director and Rossoneri club legend Paolo Maldini has once again spoken on the club’s future plans regarding the possible construction of a brand new stadium.

As part of an interview with broadcaster DAZN, one of the widely regarded best defenders to have ever played football, admitted that the club’s goal is to own a stadium, unlike currently with both them and shared tenants Inter leasing San Siro from the Milan city council.

“It may take a while, but the idea is to have a stadium of the highest level that we own, perhaps together with Inter but in short, this is a long-term project,” he remarked.

For months now there has been intense media speculation surrounding the future of Milan and Inter at San Siro with many reports suggesting the two clubs are ready to knock the iconic ground down in favour of building a modern state-of-the-art ground opposite.
