Inter are in a hurry to complete a deal for Hertha Berlin midfielder Valentino Lazaro amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Tuttosport.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio first made contact with the Bundesliga club last week and received a positive response, with reports last night claiming a €17 million offer has been made.

The Nerazzurri’s transfer team will now look to finalise a deal in the coming days so as to avoid PSG making in approach, with the Parisians interested should Thomas Meunier leave.

“Lazaro is playing in a deeper position now than he did before and became a real wing-back last season, which is what attracted the attention of Inter’s scouts,” Tuttosport reported.

Lazaro made 31 appearances for Hertha last season as they secured an 11th-place finish in Germany’s top flight, scoring three goals and contributing seven assists.

Antonio Conte views the Austrian international as the ideal profile to play at right wing-back in his 3-5-2 system, capable of covering the right flank with his stamina and pace.
