Inter will complete a deal to sign Edin Dzeko from Roma before the Nerazzurri begin preseason training in two weeks, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Dzeko is one of Antonio Conte’s priorities in this summer’s market as the club look to move on from Mauro Icardi, with Romelu Lukaku also targeted.

Inter will make fresh contact with Roma later this week in a bid to bring a deal closer, with the parties still distant on their valuations for now.

The Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku is set to prove far trickier, however, with a very big gap between their offer and Manchester United’s asking price.

Elsewhere, Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio will finalise their agreement to sign Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi tomorrow when they meet the Neroverdi.

In a very similar deal to the one that brought Matteo Politano to Inter last summer, Sensi will join on a €5 million loan with an option to buy for €25 million.

Inter’s fee for the loan will be offset by selling academy forward Edoardo Vergani to Sassuolo, who is valued at €5 million, while they could also send defender Andrew Gravillon separately.

The club will then make contact with Cagliari again as they continue to seek a deal for Nicolo Barella.

The Rossoblu still want €50 million to sell the midfielder and hope interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Roma and will force Inter to up their offer.
