Inter’s former striker Christian Vieri today claimed the Nerazzurri had already agreed a deal with Roma for Edin Dzeko.

Antonio Conte wants both the Bosnian and Romelu Lukaku to arrive up front as he plans for life after Mauro Icardi.

Inter and Roma have been in talks for weeks but recent reports suggest the clubs are still a long way from agreeing a deal.

“Dzeko is the best striker in Serie A at the moment,” Vieri told Radio 24’s show Tutti Convocati this afternoon.

“He’s going to Inter, it’s all done.”

Dzeko scored 14 goals in all competitions for Roma last season, as the Giallorossi finished sixth in Serie A and reached the last 16 in the Champions League.

The 33-year-0ld also created 11 assists under Eusebio Di Francesco and Claudio Ranieri, demonstrating his ability to link play in attack and bring teammates into the game.

Conte had hoped Dzeko would arrive in time to start preseason training on Monday, but this now seems virtually impossible.
