Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade will attempt to sign Matteo Politano from Inter in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian international winger has fallen out of favour this season at Inter due to not having a natural place in manager Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

La Viola had come in for the former Sassuolo man during the Summer transfer window but Conte ruled out the possibility of Politano leaving due to the fact he wished to take a closer look at him.

The report from the Roman newspaper does however state that it is unlikely that they will be able to sign the 26-year-old.

Politano joined Inter on a permanent basis this past Summer having spent the previous season on loan and has made 12 appearances across all competitions this term. In 284 minutes on the field he has failed to either score or provide any assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
