Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has refused to rule out the possibility of Olivier Giroud departing the club amid continued links with a move to Inter.

“If everything is right it might happen but it is not, so whilst it is not he is our player. The great thing about him is that he has got a great deal of experience and professionalism.”

“He has been nothing but great with us,” he remarked at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Blues match with Newcastle United.

Multiple reports have suggested Inter have reached an agreement over personal terms with the 33-year-old but they are yet to strike a deal with Chelsea with it understood that a few million is separating the clubs in negotiations.

Giroud has found himself slide down the pecking order this season due to the emergence of several young players and as a result he has made just seven appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored one goal.
