In today’s print edition, Corriere dello Sport have revealed the reason behind relations between Inter manager Antonio Conte and Matias Vecino deteriorating.

On Monday, Vecino made Inter medical staff aware that he still had pain in one of his calf muscles and that he would not be available for the Coppa Italia clash with Cagliari on Tuesday night. Vecino proceeded to leave Inter’s training ground without alerting Conte, something that angered Conte.

The Uruguayan midfielder was yesterday forced to work separately to the rest of his teammates, not because of injury but rather because he is now up for sale and Inter are looking to find a new club for him.

He has drawn links with a move to Tottenham with some reports suggesting he could have been a makeweight in a deal for Christian Eriksen whilst others have said Inter and Spurs could hold negotiations separate to those concerning Eriksen.

Lazio, Newcastle United and former club Fiorentina have all also been mentioned in other reports in recent days too.
