Inter and Napoli have reached an agreement in principle over the transfer of Matteo Politano but the player is waiting on Roma coming back in for him according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Politano already has an agreement with Roma over personal terms but the Giallorossi are yet to make an offer to Inter for the 26-year-old.

Politano very nearly completed a move to Roma last week as part of a swap deal involving Leonardo Spinazzola but that deal collapsed at the last minute when Inter tried to change the terms of the deal.

As per the report, Roma would be willing to take Politano on loan with an option to buy but Inter will only allow a loan if there is an obligation to buy attached.

In the coming hours, Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi and Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio are expected to hold talks over a potential transfer involving the former Sassuolo player.
