Inter manager Antonio Conte will not risk worsening Marcelo Brozovic’s condition by starting him this weekend according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

Brozovic took a knock to his ankle during this past weekend’s 1-1 draw away to Lecce and tests confirmed that he suffered a slight ankle sprain.

Although nothing too serious, Conte understandably wishes to ensure it does not become something more serious and the report goes on to state that Borja Valero is in pole position to take the Croatian international’s place in the midfield to take on Cagliari.

Sky Sport Italia also report that Conte is tempted to hand new recruit Ashley Young his debut against the Rossoblu. The 34-year-old Englishman, who has arrived on a six month deal from Manchester United, could be deployed at right wing back due to the fact Antonio Candreva has to sit out this match due to suspension.
