Marcelo Brozovic will not play for Inter this weekend against Cagliari as a result of the knock he sustained against Lecce last weekend according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The Croatian international took a knock to his ankle and left the stadium on crutches and tests conducted by Inter’s medical staff earlier this week showed that he had suffered a sprained ankle.

Whilst not serious, playing him would be a risk and could lead to him turning it into something more serious. Brozovic will therefore miss out on the match but will be back in the team for Wednesday night’s Coppa Italia clash with Fiorentina.

Brozovic dropping out of the starting line-up will be one of several changes that Inter manager Antonio Conte makes to the side to take on the Rossoblu.

Diego Godin and Antonio Candreva will both also come out of the starting line-up and will be replaced by Alessandro Bastoni and Ashley Young respectively.

Probable Inter starting line-up (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Ashley Young, Nicolo Barella, Borja Valero, Stefano Sensi, Cristiano Biraghi; Lautaro Martinez, Romelu Lukaku.
