The meeting between the 20 Serie A clubs scheduled for today in Rome to discuss a new look schedule incorporating the recently postponed matches might not take place at all according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

In the past two weeks a total of nine Serie A matches have been postponed meaning there is some catching up to do but it has been far from easy finding a solution, particularly because of the busy schedules some clubs have.

The Lega Serie A are understood to have proposed the idea of playing the games postponed this past weekend this coming weekend and just pushing everything back a week but Inter are strongly against this suggestion.

Inter are unhappy that only one option has been put on the table by league organisers and they want to play their postponed games in order they were originally set to be played which goes against what the Lega Serie A want thus meaning Inter want to play Sampdoria and then Juventus.

As things stand there has currently been no date given for the Sampdoria game and due to Inter’s participation in Europe, games cannot be scheduled in the weeks that they could potentially be playing should they progress.

Whilst Inter have made their feelings known, 18 of the remaining sides in the league appear to have backed plans with the only other side not to back them being Napoli.
