Manchester City star Sergio Aguero’s agent, Hernan Reguera, confirmed that the player wouldn’t be joining Inter this summer in an interview with Italian news outlet FcInterNews.

“Sergio has a contract with Manchester City until the end of June 2021. There’s no chance he’ll leave early, after that we’ll see what happens. If I have Spoken with Inter? No, and the reason is simple, Aguero is perfectly happy at Man City and has no intention of changing teams.”

Inter have been looking for potential replacements for the 22-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez. The player is heavily wanted by Catalan giants Barcelona, although the club can’t afford to pay his €111 million release clause.

Instead, the Blaugrana have been looking to offer multiple players to Inter in order to pay less cash. Considering the seriousness of Barcelona’s interest, it seems likely that Lautaro will leave in the summer.

Aguero has been one of the players linked with a summer move to Inter, the report details, but Reguera’s comments confirm that Inter will have to look elsewhere for their replacement. The 31-year-old Argentine striker has made 30 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2037 minutes. In that time, he has scored 23 goals and provided three assists.
