Italian journalist Paolo Condo discussed Inter’s poor recent form and their improvements under coach Antonio Conte in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

First, he discussed the Milanese club’s tough 2-1 win over Parma last week.

“When you get a victory you haven’t deserved, it can be a sign of strength, the great team wins even when it’s not in great condition.

“It was a victory that helped heal a small but serious wound that had opened up after the draw against Sassuolo.”

Condo didn’t think that Inter’s current position was cause for concern, considering that coach Antonio Conte has only been in charge of the Milanese club for one year now.

“Inter entered this final portion of the season with one mission in mind, to win all the games. There’s a lot of talk at the moment about Inter.

“I think that after 29 games last year Inter were two points ahead of the fifth, today they are 16 ahead of the fifth spot. Spalletti’s Inter, who didn’t do badly, got two fourth places qualifying for the Champions League on the last day.”

Finally, Condo talked about how the high expectations set for Inter may have been the issue.

“This is an Inter who qualified well in advance for the Champions League. The fundamental problem is that at the beginning of the season we said that if there is a team that will hurt Juventus this year, it will be Inter.”

Inter are currently 3rd in the league table after 30 games, sitting four points behind Lazio and 11 points behind league leaders and rivals Juventus. The Bianconeri are currently the favourites for the league title, after the Biancocelesti’s tough 3-0 defeat to Milan yesterday.

Inter’s next game is against Hellas Verona next week on Thursday, an important fixture for the Milanese club as a strong win against the Gialloblu may allow the Nerazzurri to bounce back.
