Inter central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini has insisted that he and his Inter teammates must continue with the way they have been playing after a big win away to newly promoted Benevento on Wednesday evening.

The Italian, who played 81 minutes of the match, grabbed his first goal of the season as he slammed home a half volley to give Inter their second goal of five in a 5-2 win over last season’s Serie B champions.

“We faced the match in the right way, I think that beyond the mistakes we kept control of the game and I’m happy. It’s still too early to talk about personal merits, we need to work and continue like this for the good of the team,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the match at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.

The former Atalanta player then went on to speak about how he is getting on with Inter Summer transfer window recruit Arturo Vidal, who he started alongside in the midfield in Campania.

“I think it went well, playing with Arturo is easy and stimulating. He is a champion, with him we will be able to do great things.

“The quality has risen considerably this year, not only in the midfield. We have many solutions, we are all players able to have our say.”

Gagliardini joined Inter back in January 2017 from Atalanta and he has since went on to make 105 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored 12 goals and tallied five assists.
