Romelu Lukaku is relishing the prospect of playing with new Inter arrival Achraf Hakimi this season, according to Wednesday’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Hakimi will make his full start for the Nerazzurri tonight when Antonio Conte’s side face Benevento, having appeared as a substitute during Saturday’s win at home to Fiorentina.

The Moroccan wing-back provided the assist for Lukaku to score Inter’s equalising goal in the closing stages at San Siro, and Gazzetta expect it to be the first of many.

Conte is working hard at Appiano Gentile to help Hakimi refine the timing of his forward runs, in the hope he can strike up a lethal partnership with Lukaku.

Antonio Candreva and Danilo D’Ambrosio provided sufficient service for the Belgian last season as Inter finished second behind Juventus in Serie A.

Hakimi represents a clear upgrade on both, however, as explained by the Milanese publication, giving Lukaku a golden opportunity to improve on his tally of 34 goals from the 2019-20 campaign.
