Inter President Massimo Moratti is furious after Andrea Ranocchia’s two-match ban for insulting officials. “It’s inexplicable.”

The defender was already set to be suspended due to the number of yellow cards he notched up, but was given an extra one-game ban for hurling “provocative phrases” at the Fourth Official after the final whistle.

“The ban is really very unusual,” Moratti told Tuttosport. “This is the third time that an incident like this has happened to us.

“It is truly a shame, because this ban inexplicably takes away a player in great shape for two rounds.”

This season Inter have already seen Antonio Cassano and Fredy Guarin suspended for insulting officials after the final whistle.
