Riccardo Ferri, great defender in Inter dei Record, was interviewed by Stadio5 regarding the new president Erick Thohir’s initiative to invite former Inter players to Inter – Sampdoria: “I’m going to the party and I’m very happy to get to know the new president of Inter who seems to be very young and ambitious and that is important, especially for the Inter fans. The thing that happens tomorrow is an event that evokes strong emotions. Even the fact that Thohir wanted to invite anyone who, if only for a minute, wore Inter’s jersey is a very positive signal, a hope to be able to reconnect everyone to the world of Inter.”
What is your impression of Thohir ?
“The impression is very good. The key is to pass on this club’s history and the crest, which isn’t only done through investments and periods, but it also consists of many people who have given much to this club. These people have great qualities to give to Thohir, but above all Inter. This is not a way for me to make myself a candidate, but a general concept that can also be applied to many other people who made history with Inter and who are ready to place themselves at the club’s disposal to ensure that Inter can continue to be a large and prestigious reality, not just nationally but internationally. Thohir’s characteristics are leadership and accuracy, especially to make Inter even more international and this interests me a lot personally.”
Could this fine initiative affect or influence the team’s performance?
“I don’t think so. Until now, at least, Walter Mazzarri has been very good at keeping the team compact and protected it from all kinds of rumors and distractions that followed this incident. This alos, taken together, are further praise that naturally goes to Mazzarri. This event will, on the contrary, be stimulating for all those who go out on the pitch.”
