Alessio Tacchinardi admits candidly: it was a penalty. When he was interviewed by La Tribù del Calcio the former Juventus midfielder returned to the now infamous penalty that wasn’t given when Mark Iuliano brought down Ronaldo in the match Juventus-Inter in April 1998: “It was a penalty, I would given it. Or at least, if you don’t give a penalty, you don’t give the one that followed.”

Tacchinardi also talked about one of the protagonists of this incident: “No one can imagine how fast Ronaldo was the first five steps, according to me, he was better at it than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.”

He also revealed something he regrets: “I have been trained by many great coaches, it was a shame I never got to be coached by José Mourinho.”
